About the independent study and mentorship program
The Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) program is a course offered to hardworking and diligent students wanting to pursue and study a field of their choice. Students interested in the ISM program go through an application process in which involves teacher recommendations, written responses, and interviews with the ISM instructor before admittance into the program. Over the course of the year, students will narrow their fields of study through research, analysis, and project development in order to chose a mentor to lead them through the inter-workings of their field of study in a professional setting. The ISM program is heavily weighted on the professional aspect, highlighting the importance of communication,
interpersonal relationships, and the development of skills in which will benefit the student and the community as a whole.
